MIKU YASUKAWA

Miku Yasukawa comes from Tokushima in Japan and studied at the Tokyo University of the Arts before moving to the U.K. where she is an Artist Diploma student under the tutelage of Marilyn Rees. She has appeared extensively with Bach Collegium Japan including an European Tour, and is a frequent performer on the concert platform including sang Beethoven Symphony No.9 and Choral Fantasy, Carmina Burana, Messiah, St.Matthew Passion, Mozart’s Requiem, Brahms’s German Requiem and Vivaldi Gloria. Miku recently sang the role of Norina in Don Pasquale with Hurn Court Opera to critical acclaim. Another recent highlight was performing Shéhérazade under the baton of Jonathan Nott with the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra in Suntory Hall and Muza Kawasaki.
Future engagement include Schubert Mass No.5 in A flat major with Bach Collegium Japan under the baton of Masaaki Suzuki, Brahms German Requiem with Bounemouth Symphony Orchestra, Zemlinsky Lyrische Symphonie with Orchestra Ensemble Kanazawa under Masaaki Suzuki.
Miku’s studies are generously supported by the Yonden Cultural Foundation, The Sidney Perry Foundation and the Japanese Agency of Cultural Affairs.
