MIKU YASUKAWA

Miku Yasukawa studied at Kunitachi College of Music and Tokyo University of the Arts before moving to the U.K. where she completed her studies on the Artist Diploma Course, with a distinction, at Guildhall School of Music and Drama. She was a finalist for the prestigious Gold Medal 2023 and performed at the Barbican Centre.
Miku played the role of Norina in Don Pasquale with Hurn Court Opera to great critical acclaim, including a five star review from Opera Now magazine. Other recent highlights include performing Ravel’s Shéhérazade under the baton of Jonathan Nott with the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, Brahms’s “German Requiem” with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, and with Bach Collegium Japan under Masaaki Suzuki. The latter has been recorded and will be released on CD under the BIS Records label.
In April 2024, Miku appeared as Celestial Voice in Berlioz's “The Damnation of Faust” performed by the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Kazuki Yamada, and was broadcast on BBC Radio3.
In May 2024,she appeared on Zemlinsky Lyrische Symphonie with Orchestra Ensemble Kanazawa under Masaaki Suzuki.
Future engagement include Beethoven's Symphony no.9 with Tokyo Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Jonthan Nott.
Miku’s studies are generously supported by the Yonden Cultural Foundation, The Sidney Perry Foundation and the Japanese Agency of Cultural Affairs.
